FORGE announces “Women Rising” narrative series

As climate change intensifies gender-based violence and harassment in the world of work, women workers are rising against it.

FORGE, in partnership with Devex, is proud to announce “Women Rising,” a new narrative series spotlighting the intersection of gender-based violence and harassment and climate change in the world of work.

The series explores the essential leadership of women workers, particularly migrant workers and those in the informal economy, as drivers of inclusive and disruptive change. Crucially, this series highlights women workers’ pivotal role in advocating for the the adoption and implementation of International Labor OrganizationConvention (C190), the first international treaty to recognize the right of everyone to work free from violence and harassment, including gender-based violence and harassment. Each piece explores the criticality of women worker leadership in shifting power and influencing policy.

The newly launched microsite includes the first two pieces from the narrative series, as well as other articles and resources related to women workers, climate change, and gender-based violence and harassment, and will continue to be updated as the series continues.
