FORGE is a collaborative of philanthropic donors working to advance a global economy that works for all. By pooling expertise and resources, we enable community and worker-led movements to catalyze change at the intersections of the world’s most pressing issues.
Worldwide, people are experiencing an economic race to the bottom with growing inequality, the erosion of democracy and the climate crisis. At the same time, there is unprecedented momentum to change the direction of the global economy so that it works for everyone and the planet.
FORGE breaks down silos to encourage the sharing of knowledge, insights and strategies, both within and beyond philanthropy. Our members focus on a breadth of issues – including natural resources, climate change, corporate accountability and human rights, enabling us to explore how these issues intersect. By strategically aligning and channeling funds, we're leveraging opportunities for more meaningful impact.
DEMOCRACY AT WORK FUND
The Democracy at Work Fund supports organizations in Asia, Africa, and Latin America leading efforts at the intersection of labor rights, democracy, and a just transition, prioritizing organizations led by workers in the informal economy, women, and migrant workers.
This is the first multi-donor pooled fund dedicated to supporting workers’ organizations in the Global South.
WOMEN RISING
FORGE has partnered with Devex to create Women Rising, a narrative series spotlighting the intersection of climate change and gender-based violence and harassment in the world of work - and the leadership of women workers as drivers of inclusive and disruptive change.
