Resourcing a just recovery
Center for Economic and Social Rights
This project enables activists across movements and geographies to assess how governments and International Financial Institutions (IFIs) are resourcing economic responses to COVID-19; to challenge responses that undermine human rights and deepen inequalities; and to promote transformative fiscal alternatives. The objective is to broaden and strengthen the collective of actors working across social justice fields and movements to demand the progressive and redistributive fiscal policies needed to tackle the crisis.
Why is now the time to act?
“Failure to act now will result in greater fragmentation and siloing of civil society responses to the crisis; continued neglect of human rights in economic policymaking; and a missed opportunity to seize the moment for transformative, systemic change in how our economies are organized and who wields power.”
